India is 4.5 hours behind Sydney and Melbourne during standard time, and 5.5 hours behind when they observe daylight saving. My 9:30am is your 2pm in Sydney. Perth is closer still, at 2.5 hours. The practical effect is that anything raised in your morning has a reply before you finish for the day, and anything I finish overnight is waiting when you start. Of the markets here, Australia has the most natural handover.
AUD invoices, and no GST to reconcile
Invoices are issued in AUD, paid by bank transfer or Wise. Services supplied from outside Australia to an Australian business are generally outside the scope of Australian GST, so nothing is added — and there is no Indian GST on an export of services either. If your business is registered and the supply falls within the reverse-charge rules, your accountant will handle it on your BAS. No ABN is required from me for a foreign supplier, though your bookkeeper may ask.
The Privacy Act, and the notifiable breach scheme
The Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles govern how your users' data is handled, and the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme means a breach involving likely serious harm has to be reported to the OAIC and to the people affected. That last part is the one that changes engineering decisions: a system that logs more than it needs is a larger disclosure obligation the day something goes wrong. Builds for Australian clients collect less by default, enforce retention in the database, and keep an honest record of what is stored where.

It is the easiest of the markets on this site, in the sense that the handover is natural. Your afternoon is my morning, so questions asked during your day get answered during your day. What lands overnight for you is a full working day of mine, which usually means progress waiting rather than a queue of blocked questions.
No GST is charged — a supply from outside Australia to an Australian business is generally outside its scope, and an Australian Business Number is not required of a foreign supplier. If the reverse-charge rules apply to your registration, your accountant accounts for it on the BAS. Treat this as a general description rather than tax advice.
Wherever you need it. Australian clients often prefer a Sydney region for latency or procurement reasons, and both the hosting and the database can sit there. It is a decision worth making at the start, because moving a production database between regions later is disruptive in a way that choosing correctly on day one is not.
Wise or a direct bank transfer in AUD, against a milestone schedule agreed up front rather than an open-ended hourly arrangement. A deposit starts the work, the balance follows delivery, and larger projects are split across more milestones so neither of us is ever far out of pocket.
